Kickstart Your Trade Career with TCT
TCT is now accepting applications for the TCT Supports the Trades Grant, a program created to assist members pursuing education and careers in the skilled trades.
“We want high school seniors and adult members to know there are strong career opportunities available through trade education, and TCT is proud to help them achieve their goals,” said TCT FCU CEO Curt Cecala.
The grant is available to TCT members age 16 and older who are enrolled in, or have completed, a trade school program and demonstrate financial need.
Through this program, TCT continues its commitment to education, workforce development, and helping members connect with meaningful opportunities in our local communities.
Since the Trade Grant Program's inception, TCT has awarded $4,300 assisting 5 Members to kickstart their trade careers.

What is a Trusted Contact?
At TCT, we have a Trusted Contact Program that allows our members to name a person or persons we may contact if there are concerns about fraud, potential financial exploitation, diminished capacity, or if we are having difficulty reaching the member.
The Trusted Contact is not considered an owner on the account(s) and is not authorized to transact on the account(s); instead, they serve as an extra layer of protection and support by helping confirm the member’s wellbeing and, when appropriate, assisting the member in addressing suspicious activity.
Being designated as a Trusted Contact is a non-legal role designed for you to act as a safety net for our members’ account(s), similar to an emergency contact. If you are named, you should expect to be contacted by TCT only in specific, limited circumstances to help protect our member from fraud, financial exploitation or to address sensitive or urgent situations when they cannot be reached.
To add a Trusted Contact to your account(s), please contact TCT to complete a Trusted Contact Authorization form.

Let’s Put a Freeze on Fraud at TCT
TCT invites you to visit our branches during the week of July 13–17 to Put a Freeze on Fraud. Stop by our “Let’s Put a Freeze on Fraud” table to pick up helpful tips, ask questions, and learn simple ways to protect your personal information, cards, and accounts.
You can enjoy a quick, friendly conversation about common scams, suspicious calls and texts, phishing, impersonation fraud, and card safety. We’ll also have fraud prevention materials, RFID card protectors, card control app information, and a cool themed treat to help us “freeze” fraud together.
Keep an eye out for the frozen-themed display and stop by to learn how to pause, verify, and protect yourself before fraud has a chance to heat up.

Help Protect the Financial Well Being of Older Adults
Each June, Elder Abuse Awareness Month reminds us of an important truth: financial exploitation is one of the fastest-growing forms of elder abuse, and it affects families in every community. At TCT, we’re committed to helping protect older adults from fraud, scams, and financial harm. Safeguarding your hard-earned money is at the heart of what we do.
A Growing Threat to Older Adults
Recent federal reports show a sharp rise in scams targeting adults aged sixty and older. Losses of more than $100,000 have increased dramatically in recent years according to data collected by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), with scammers often posing as trusted institutions, including banks, government agencies, technology companies, or even the FTC itself. These criminals use fear, urgency, and sophisticated stories to pressure older adults into sending money or sharing sensitive information.
Common tactics include:
- Fake alerts claiming that someone is using your accounts.
- Imposters pretending that your Social Security number is linked to a crime.
- Pop-up “security warnings” urging you to call a fake support line.
- “Emergency” phone calls designed to keep you talking so that you are unable to verify the story with a loved one.
- Understanding these tactics is the first step in stopping them.
